This piece was heavily inspired by the writing style of Roald Dahl. He always had a great talent for creating wild imagery that could astound and even disturb his readers, be it in the most delightful way possible. I wanted to create that sense here with the way I have chosen to describe the setting. I always admire his method of a using fine detail to build up to a seemingly obvious conclusion but to only subvert expectations to a hilarious and sometimes shocking payoff. The author was truly a mad genius of literature being able to bring the most crazy and larger than life ideas to life and experiment with a variety of emotions all to as equal effect as the other. These concepts I wanted to experiment with in my writing hence my current May Free Choice.
